Levy Court to participate in the Dental Discount Card program
(DOVER) - - Kent County Levy Court in partnership with the National Association of Counties (NACo) has launched a Dental Discount Card Program to help residents save money on their dental procedures. Kent County is one of thirty-eight counties who have agreed to be a part ofa pilotto testthe program.
The program will provide residents in those counties with cards that will save from 5% to 50% on a full complement of dental services. The cards will cost $59 a year for individuals and $69 a year for families.
NACo is partnering with Careington, Inc. to provide the program. Careington was chosen following a request for proposal process, an independent consultant review and a review by the Dental Discount Program Task Force which included Commissioner Allan Angel. The NACo Board of Directors voted in 2009 to start the program. If the one-year pilot program is successful, NACo will expand the program to include all member counties.
The Dental Discount Card is available at the Kent County Administration Building at 555 Bay Road. Residents will be issued a temporary card and must contact Careington directly to pay the fee and activate the card. Residents will receive a permanent card in the mail.
